My name is Ashlyn Hines. I play soccer and basketball. I am a forward in soccer and a shooting guard in basketball. My favorite athlete is Lebron James. He is disliked and claimed to be overrated by a lot of people from around here and that is why he stands out to me and I enjoy watching him play! My favorite sport to play is soccer and I've been playing since I was six years old. I love playing sports and I'll play a game with you anytime you want to!

Throughout the article, "How Sports Transcends Culture" professional sports impact us and our culture in vast ways. Initially, people from all over the world and of all different races have fallen in love with the same sports. By bringing athletes from around the world together many new languages are put together to be learned by all teammates! Complications in playing these sports happen in ways that do not effect the actual game. Sports have made friendships between different races all because the passion one and another share for the game. Sports also have made immigrants feel comfortable with doing what they love. A way this was shown in the past, was Jackie Robinson's story. "Jackie Robinson's story is well documented, and everyone now understands the impact of integration in Major League Baseball. But the subtle impact has gone overlooked in a society that attempts to ignore cultural and ethnic relations." (-Angel Navedo) This quote is showing how Jackie Robinson wanted to play baseball and at first he was judged because of the color of his skin, but the fans and players looked beyond that to see what a talented player he actually was. By and large, sports have had a large impact on society and our culture..
Professional sports do still have impacts and influence on our culture today. Not only do professional sports, I believe that all sports do. If someone is a sports fan in our society today, they are interested on learning more and more about any sport they can. By watching sports, playing sports, and being involved in the sport people today have realized there is a lot more to the game than the color of your skin. Sports fans are focused on what you do when you are out on the court or up on stage, not what you practice religiously or your personal beliefs. Sports influence our cultural because the moment sports are brought to someone's attention it can turn all around.
The effects sports have on our culture are insane. The positive effects are off the charts with excitement in fans and strong feelings about their favorite team, but the second one person disagrees with another it can be more than chaotic! I think that refs are a huge part of the negative effects. Refs cannot be perfect, but you know when the call is against your team you have to be livid. No matter what the referees do they will always be wrong to the team they call out. Another negative effect in sports to our culture is the money being spent daily. Equipment, uniforms, practice times, balls, and parking spots all cost a fortune now a days! Just for your kid to have fun and do what they enjoy is costs over $100 and that baffles me. Last, sports have a negative effect on our culture today because of fights that break out. On the field, behind the screen, and in the stands, people are always going to stick up for their team. Now that kids are getting older the jargon they use against teams can be hurtful and even cause a suspension to the next game. Usually men, but also women, break out into fights about who's the better team and it can start in a heated debate but turn out to an actual fist fight. Now I know what you are thinking, why do people even get into sports? It seems like just drama filled nonsense but that is not the case. Sports have their downs, but they definitely have their ups!  My brothers and dad have formed a much better relationship by bonding over sports and I'm sure a lot of father and son relationships are built up among loving the game! Sports also tend to take athlete's minds off of something. If they are stressing out they can just go play it off by having a good game and a win. A win, winning a game is probably the greatest feeling in the world. That is such a positive aspect of sports. When you win, a rush of thrill and excitement explodes throughout your body. Especially when you work as a team to get the win. Another positive effect in sports is family friends form throughout sports and a lot of friendships come to be that way. Family friends get together with foods everyone makes and both families sit down to bond over the game! Friendships come out of kids being on the same team and having a special bond about their team and the way the game works. Sports is the most interesting and most talked about event in the world and it has it's effects on our culture that come in all different ways.
The impact sports have on my life is bigger than you would think. I'm always watching sports with my family. My sister, and both of my brothers played sports so I've always has the opportunity to go and support them and watch their games. For myself I play basketball and soccer and I've never loved to play two events so much. When I play these sports the passion  have to win the game is unreal. Last March, the biggest thing happened to me that has ever happened. While playing basketball I tore my ACL and my meniscus. Nothing has ever impacted my life as much as this did. It totally changed my life and this is a moment I will never forget. My dad will always be my number one supporter in my sports life. He goes to all of my games and he's always giving me tips on how to improve my game. He notices the little flaws about me that get on my nerves more than anything but I will always appreciate how much he loves to watch me play. The bond me and my dad have created over watching sports and me playing sports is incredible. Everything I do in sports I do for myself and for my dad. I know he's proud of me and that is the greatest feeling ever. I love what sports have done for me and my family and I wouldn't want it any other way!

I totally love to watch football! Football is the number one sport in my house. My dad and both of my brothers played it and my sister Taryn cheers for it. My oldest brother Paul played since he was 8 all the way until his senior year. My other brother Matthew played since he was seven and still plays today as a freshman at Nichols college. I've gone to all of their games and sat through every practice. Every night football is on in my house, so as you can see I basically had no other choice than to be interested in football. My favorite team has been the New York Giants and I really don't know why but they have been since I was younger.

I was very excited to watch the Super Bowl this year! I knew the patriots would win, I had faith in them! Although I believe the Seahawks are an all around better team, for some reason I had the Patriots winning. At the moment Butler caught that interception the excitement throughout my household was huge! My dad jumped in the air, my brothers hugged! My family and I were ecstatic. The game could not have been better. I couldn't take my eyes off of the tv. This game was the closest game and it definitely had all of New England on the edge of their seats! I think the win of this Super Bowl has made a large impact on our city. No one is ever going to forget this moment, I know I won't!

The general argument made by the associated press in Mavs, Rondo still in a transition game was the fact that Rajon Rondo is having trouble switching to a new team. While he was on the Boston Celtics his career was incredible. He was a hit and the most famous player. By switching to the Mavericks, a lot of pressure was put on to Rondo to be the same all star player he was before. The associated press writes, "He was on the floor two nights later in New Orleans, but with an inbound play breaking down, he tried to throw a lob to Dirk Nowitzki. Anthony Davis stole it, and the Pelicans went on to win by three." In conclusion, the belief of the press is that Rondo is still a very great player, but his season on the Mavericks is not starting out how it was expected to be.
